Description
Scrimgeour Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is an orange-based tartan with a contrasting blue check.
The name comes from Middle English, which derived from the Old French forms of Servitor, a fencer. During the war of independence, the Scrimgeour were confirmed as banner bearers by William Wallace and Parliament in 1298. In 1370 large amounts of land in Argyll came to the Scrimgeour family when Alexander Krisher/Scrimgeour married Agnes, heiress to Gilbert glossary of the Ilk.
