Description
Napier Ancient is a classic blue-based tartan with white and black checks. This name was given to the court official in charge of the Royal Napery or Linen. When Alexander Napier made his fortune in the Acrylic Wool trade, and financial dealings with James I, he obtained a charter to the lands of Murchison and became Provost of Edinburgh in 1437.
