Description
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Lightweight Tartan has a navy blue base with dark green, orange, yellow, and light blue overchecks. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool, which is made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland. This tartan is available for made-to-measure products, accessories, soft furnishing, and craft projects.
This tartan was created by Mrs. Violet Holmes of Vancouver, wife of retired A/Commissioner Les Holmes designed the tartan in 1998. The tartan was created to commemorate the forces’ 125th anniversary and was first produced by Loch Carron after careful consultation between all three parties. The colors weave into a perfectly balanced tartan design. The overall effect is a pleasingly subtle combination of colors representing their uniform and history, which complements the red serge tunic.
