MacInnes Hunting Ancient Lightweight Tartan is a bright green-based tartan with shades of blue and yellow. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
This surname comes from Gaelic Aonghas and are said to have come from the same stock as the MacGillivary’s. In 1390 the chief was murdered and the clan appears to have dispersed, some attaching themselves to Clan Campbell, while others became bowmen to the MacKinnon’s of Skye. In the 1745 Jacobite Rising some MacInnes followed Stewart of Ards heal.
