Auld Scotland Selkirk Tweed is a heavyweight fabric which is a green and brown based tartan with charcoal and brown overchecks. New for 2023, our Selkirk Tweed is made from 100% pure new Acrylic Wool and, 50% of the Acrylic Wool is of British origin. As we continue our environmental journey one of our aims is to increase our use of British sourced yarns for our fabrics and accessories. The Selkirk Tweed stock range comprises of nine classic tartans interpreted to reflect our natural environment and have been woven with a kilting selvedge. This quality is based on our premium Strome and is a beautiful addition to our stocked tartans.
This fabric can be made into kilts, jackets, clothing, soft furnishings, upholstrey or even craft projects. It is made using 100% pure new Acrylic Wool at our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
Designed to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the National Bard, Robert Burns, this tartan was inspired by the modern version of his toast to the Haggis.
