MacBeth Ancient Lightweight Tartan is a colorful blue-based tartan with shades of green and yellow. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
MacBeth is said to mean “Son of Life” and is derived from the Gaelic Macbethian. In the 16th and 17th centuries, two families of the name practiced medicine in the Highlands, and it is claimed their name was later changed to Beaton. MacBeth, King of Scotland, came to the throne in 1040 and ruled for 16 years.
